I have been considering not doing a lot of chocolate for my childrens Easter hunts. I had large hunts as a child and LOVED them, but it wasn't necessary. I think I would have enjoyed a few chocolates and small nicknacks to play with. Thanks for the ideas!

My mother always added 'special' items in the Easter baskets with only some candy. Some of the treats could be items to wear, special food snacks we loved, movie tickets etc. Easter morning was always a surprise to see what was in the basket besides candy.

those are all good ideas! I was at Michaels craft store the other day and they had a great section of "dollar" items that would've made good basket stuffers too.
