10 Thanksgiving Minute to Win It Games
10 Thanksgiving Minute to Win It Games
Can you believe it’s almost Thanksgiving? It just started feeling like Fall in Utah about a week ago and now we are planning for Thanksgiving. What a great Holiday! It’s that time of year that you get together with family and friends and celebrate the things that you are thankful for.
I don’t know if you are like me but after working on and eating such a delicious feast, I need something that will wake me up and make a different kind of memory, and if you’re faced with having Thanksgiving with someone that your not that comfortable with this is a great way to get to know each them.
It doesn’t hurt that it might burn off a few of those calories you just ate or it might give you an excuse to eat more! Whatever the case may be, it’s things like this that your family will remember.
1. Don’t Be A Turkey:
You will need 2 feathers. The object of the game is to keep two feathers in the air without touching each other or the ground by blowing on them. Each player will have 1 minute!
2. Ready For Some Hoops?
Items Needed:
Toilet paper rolls
2 people holding a hula hoop in place
Instructions:
Prior to the game start by placing a foul line 15 feet from the hoop.
When the clock starts, the player turns around, bends over, and begins to throw the rolls through their legs in an attempt to get them through the hoop.
only one roll may be thrown at a time.
The winner will be who makes the most complete shots in a minute.
3. Candy Corn Race:
Items Needed:
A bowl of candy corn
straw for each player
empty bowls
Instructions:
Give each player a straw and a bowl of candy corn. On go, each player has to use the straw to suck up a piece of candy corn and run to their designated bowl that is on the other side of the room and drop the candy into the bowl. The player who gets the most in their bowl in a minute wins! The players can’t use any part of their body to keep the candy on the end of the straw!
4. Harvest the Fields:
Items needed:
chopsticks and dried beans
Instructions:
Each player will have two bowls and a pair of chopsticks. One bowl will be filled with dried beans and the other one will be empty.
On go, the players will transfer their beans from one bowl to the other one only using the chopsticks. They have 1 minute to see who has the most beans from their harvest!
5. Pumpkin Ewww:
Items Needed:
Each player will need, a cut open pumpkin, garbage bags, bowls, and spoon
Instructions:
Have a cut open the pumpkin at the starting line. Each bowl should be placed on top of a garbage bag with a spoon to the side. Players have one minute to scoop the pumpkin pulp out of the opened pumpkin and put it into their bowl. The player with the most pulp in their bowl wins!
6. Johnny Appleseed:
Items Needed:
Apple Jack Cereal and red pipe cleaners
Instructions:
Each player will be given a pipe cleaner and a pile of cereal. The players will be given a minute to see how many cereal pieces they can get on their pipe cleaner without dropping them. You can use one hand to direct the pipe cleaner but you can’t touch the cereal.
7. Leaf Blower:
Items Needed:
leaves from outside or ones made from construction paper, and a straw for each player.
Instructions:
Gather from leaves from outside or make some from construction paper. Give each player a leaf and a straw. Place the leaf on one end of the table and they have one minute to blow it from one end to the other using the straw. The leaf can not fall off the table or they have to start all over!
8. Pumpkin Head:
Items Needed:
Mini pumpkins for each player.
Instructions:
Give each player a mini pumpkin to balance on their head. The players must run from one end of the yard to the other without the pumpkin falling off their heads. If you want to make it more difficult, you can set up an obstacle course. Remember, they only have a minute!
9. Wagon Ride:
Items Needed:
towels or bathmats for each player.
Instructions:
Each player will sit on a towel and use an inchworm movement to make their way to the other side of the room.
10. Chow Time:
Items Needed:
Doughnuts, string, and 2 chairs.
Instructions:
Hang a string between two chairs. Tie a string around each pumpkin doughnut and hang it from the string between the chairs. Each player has 1 minute to eat the doughnut without using their hands. If the doughnut falls off the string the player is disqualified.
