4 Tips to Stay Cool This Summer Without Breaking the Bank

A few weeks ago when Utah started to heat up because the rain stopped coming, Ben and I quickly discovered that our brand new AC unit was not working. Our house was 80+ degrees at all times so we were constantly googling tips to stay cool.

The number one tip we found, especially since our AC unit was the issue, was to cool the person, not the house!

Here’s how:

1. Damp Rag: Carry a damp rag with you. Even if it’s not cold water, rubbing it on your body will allow you to feel the breeze more and help keep you cool.

2. Spray Bottle: This is essentially the same concept as the damp rag. Even if it’s not cold water, spritzing your body will allow you to feel the breeze more and help keep you cool.

3. Neck Ice Pack: These are awesome!! You wear them inconspicuously and they’ll keep you cool for hours. They’re also great for hiking, biking, or running!

4. Wear Loose Athletic Clothing: Athletic clothing is often made with materials that help regulate your body temperature. The looseness allows air to pass through in order to help keep you cool.
