American Girl Doll House Hard Wood Floors

 

My cute 11 year old sister is so cute and so obsessed with American Girl Dolls! My amazing husband, drew her name for sibling Christmas gifts. He went way over the top, and built her an entire house, complete with differently painted rooms, crown molding, roof shingles and hardwood floors. She was so excited she CRIED! Actual tears! I filmed the entire thing. I could not stop smiling, it was so fun! The hardwood floors was really easy, but a little time consuming. 

 

1. We bought the big thick craft sticks, using scissors we cut off the tips.

2. Using wood glue, glued them to the floor in an alternating pattern. We put heavy objects on the sticks until the glue dried to make sure they laid flat.

3. Then using mahogany stain we dyed the floor. 

4. Lastly we took a varnish and covered the wood.

 

It took us about 4 hours to complete.
