Honey White Bread
Honey White Bread! When we buy store bought bread, we don’t eat it and it goes bad. I actually love to bake bread, this honey white bread is the perfect sandwich bread! The boys loved it!
Since, I’ve been on a sourdough bread kick, I have been baking bread every week and the boys eat it like it’s going out of style. I didn’t have time this weekend to bake it so we had to bake some bread yesterday because we were out.
Pretty much anything Grey will eat, I’m more than happy to make. Boy needs to put on some pounds so his younger brother doesn’t outweigh him! Can’t go wrong with honey white bread!
Ingredients
- 2 packages active dry yeast
- 1 1/2 cup warm water
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 cup scalded milk
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 8 to 9 cups bread flour
Directions
-
In a mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water and sugar. Add the butter, honey, eggs, salt, scalded milk and 4 cups of flour. Beat on low speed for 30 seconds. Stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough.
-
Using dough hook attachment, knead until smooth and elastic about 5-7 minutes.
-
Place in a greased bowl turning once to grease top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled; about 1 hour.
-
Punch dough down. Divide into thirds. Shape into loaves. Place in three greased loaf pans. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 30 minutes.
-
Bake at 375 degrees for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from pans to wire rack to cool. Yields 3 loaves.
