If you have had a chance to check out the blog before, you know that we are BIG sloppy joe fans! We have had them for special occasions for many years. The sloppy joe recipe was handed down to me from my grandma and we haven’t changed it since! It’s a little different from other recipes because it has Chicken Gumbo soup in it, so there’s rice!

Honestly, I could just eat the meat mixture right out of the pan and be a happy camper! The sliders just take it to a new level. The glaze on the rolls will leave you wanting more!

TIPS AND TRICKS

  • If hamburger isn’t your favorite, you can substitute it for ground turkey, pork, chicken or even a rotisserie  chicken.
  • I used King’s Hawaiian dinner rolls, but any slider roll will do.
  • If the top of your rolls are starting to get too brown, cover them with foil for the remaining cooking time,
  • I used everything bagel seasoning for the top of my rolls but feel free to use your favorite seasonings.
  • If you want to make them in advance, just don’t assemble them. Keep the meat mixture off the rolls until you ready to bake them.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge. They should be good for up to 2 days.
