Back to the Future Birthday Cake
This Back to the Future Birthday Cake is a fun spin-off on the Back to the Future movies and is topped off with a Stikbot. Random, but just what my 10-year-old wanted for his Back to the Future birthday cake!
Do you know what’s annoying? Kids growing up! I mean, don’t get me wrong, I don’t want to be changing diapers for eternity, but why does it have to happen so fast? It’s like someone pressed the fast-forward button on my life and I can’t get it to stop! Somehow my baby boy turned into my tween boy last month and I’m still trying to wrap my brain around it.
We have been watching Back to the Future over and over again, and Max decided he had to have a Back to the Future cake for his birthday. He also wanted Stikbots for his birthday, so he wanted one hanging off the back of his Back to the Future cake.
This was thrown together in a matter of hours, as we had the busiest week in history! The game plan changed a few times, hence the random tray it’s on, but Max sure loved it and I thought I’d share it, despite my desire to hide it for its imperfections.
The cake is a simple yellow cake mix, and the car is made from Rice Krispie cereal treats. It’s covered with homemade marshmallow fondant and sprays painted with Wilton colored food spray paint.
