Bloomin Onion Copy Cat
Finger Food week continued! We love ourselves some Bloomin’ Onion! So we made ourselves one and it was way good!
Bloomin Onion Copy Cat INGREDIENTS:
- 1 medium Onion
- 1 1/2 cups Flour
- 2 teaspoons McCormick Seasoned Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Coarsely Ground Pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1 cup Butter Milk
directions
Heat oil to about medium high. Mix the Dry ingredients together. Chop the top 1/4 off the onion, then slice the onion peel and peel it off carefully. Then slice like a pie until they are into about 1/2 inch slices. Then put the onion into a bowl of ice water for about 45 minutes to make the petals spread out. Pull out of the ice water, and dust with flour mixture. Then dip in the buttermilk and then back into the flour mixture until the entire onion is covered. Then drop into the oil petals up, make sure the oil is completely covering the onion. Pull out when golden brown, it takes about 10 – 15 minutes.
Sauce Ingredients
1/2 cup of Mayo
2 tablespoons of BBQ sauce
1 tablespoon of Buttermilk
Whisk together and enjoy!!
