Brown Sugar Bars!
While cleaning out my grandma’s house with her, we found some really fun stuff! One of my most favorite things that we found aside from all the pictures, was my great grandma’s cookbook!
This recipe was in her handwriting and it was so good and so easy to make! You should give this a try!
Brown Sugar Bars
Ingredients
1 1/3 cups flour
2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 stick of butter
2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 cup chopped pecans
Directions
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt.
2. Melt butter in a saucepan large enough to use as a mixing bowl. Remove from heat and stir in brown sugar. Add the eggs and vanilla mix well.
3. Add in the remaining ingredients. I stirred it with a rubber spatula until it was mixed in well. It’s an interesting consistency.
4. Spread into an 11×13 inch pan (I lined mine with tin foil). Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
5. Cut into bars.
I love how simple and delicious this sounds. I'm a sucker for family recipes as well. Will definitely have to try! Pinned!
Yum! Grandma's recipes are always the best!
These are mouth-watering bars!!
