Crockpot Pork Carnitas
We love tacos and we really love Crockpot pork carnitas as tacos or burritos!
This is one of the meals that I prepped before hand and put in the fridge. It worked out great and tasted amazing. I think putting the seasoning on the meat and leaving it in the fridge a couple days really helped the meat be a great flavor! Then crisping it after made it extra good! Tacos, burritos or salads would all work for this meat.
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 2 teaspoons cumin
- 2 teaspoons oregano
- 1 tablespoon salt, or more to taste
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 pounds pork shoulder
- 5 garlic cloves peeled and mashed
- 2 onions, quartered
- 3/4 freshly squeezed orange juice
- 1/3 cup lime juice
Directions
- Mix together the seasonings in a bowl and coat the outside of the meat.
- Place seasoned meat in the crockpot with the remaining ingredients.
- Cook on low for 8 hours.
- Preheat the oven to broil.
- Shred meat and place on cookie sheet, and spread out top with the juice and broil until the meat tips are crispy and brown.
- Enjoy warm as tacos or burritos.
