DIY Holiday Ornament Sign!
DIY Holiday Ornament Sign
Here it is a few weeks before Thanksgiving and I can’t wait to get all my Christmas decorations up! Last year, we retired most of our Christmas decor because we had used the same things for several years and they were starting to show the wear and tear of kids giving them love.
It’s really hard to get rid of decorations, at least for me, because every little trinket holds so many memories and stories to go with it, and you just want to hold on to that. Your kids get older but you can remember how their eyes used to light up when they saw that special something hanging on the wall!
In the past, I would purchase my decorations because I didn’t have the time to make them and I didn’t feel as handy in the past years. I also thought it would cost more to make than just to buy it. This year is different!
My husband and I have been getting jiggy with the power tools and enjoying every minute! Since Home Depot has been our second home the past month, we started to check out their workshops. The Home Depot Workshops are designed to provide a mix of associate-led demonstrations and some hands-on learning. Materials can be purchased to make your own project. For more information, contact your local Home Depot store.
This project took us about 30 minutes to make and boy, did we have fun spending that time together. They have step-by-step instructions that make it easy for everyone, and you can custom design yours to show your personality and what Christmas means to you. Plus, it doesn’t cost too much and the Home Depot employees are more than happy to help you.
I just love the different colors that are in style for Christmas this year! I went with the grey and white strips to jazz up my sign. The ornament was a cutout that I sprayed with glue and then covered with glitter. To make sure the glitter stays, you spray a coat of glue over the top. For the finishing touch, I found the perfect greenery to put over the top!
This sign is really cute. Have you had any issues with the glitter falling off?
This looks like a lot of fun to do! I don’t DIY things because I don’t have the creativity to do so (haha) but I think it’s nice to try with home decor to give it a more personalized touch.

Cool. And I believe the best decorations are the ones you make, anyway. Pinned it.
