Festive Stocking Holder!
Festive Stocking Holder
It’s that time of year! We just cleaned up the kitchen from our Thanksgiving feast and now all I can think about is putting up my Christmas decorations! I know, a lot of you already put up your Christmas decor but I always love to wait until after Thanksgiving.
This year I’m even more excited because we remodeled our great room and we threw away all our old decorations and so now, we need to make or buy new ones!
In the past, we would hang our stockings from the fireplace but with our new fireplace, we don’t want to put any nail holes into the finish. The problem was solved when you put together this stocking holder.
Did you know that Home Depot provides workshops? The Home Depot Workshops are designed to provide a mix of associate-led demonstrations and some hands-on learning. Materials can be purchased to make your own project. For more information, contact your local Home Depot store. I’m in love with this stocking holder! It’s so festive and it’s such a cute addition to my room.
Depending on the size of your family, you can add more hooks or just have a few! I used spray paint to cover the pole. First, I painted the gold onto the top and onto the base. I only use Krylon spray paint. After the gold dried, I used painter’s tape to cover the gold sections, and I used clear caulking to seal the seams, so the white paint wouldn’t sneak onto the gold.
In Utah, it’s starting to get cold and hard for the paint to dry, so set a fan by the pole, to help with the drying process. For the finishing touch, I added a bow to the top. Now, everything is ready for Santa’s arrival!
The best part of making your own decorations for Christmas is you get to put a little bit of yourself into each and every project. This project cost was less than $30 and took only an hour to make and paint! Wouldn’t this be a perfect present for someone in your family?
Oh thats a really good idea! I love it!
This is a super cute idea! I don’t have a mantle to hang my stockings on so I’ve been trying to figure out some way of hanging them that won’t take up a ton of room! This would be perfection!
This is a great idea, especially for those of us without fireplaces or mantles. I really don’t have a place for mine and my boyfriends stockings so maybe I will make one of these 🙂
This is a perfect craft for anyone without a fire place, great post! xo
This is such a good idea if you don’t have a mantle! My current house has a beautiful fireplace but my next one may not, and where to hang Christmas stockings will be a legit concern in 2 years!
I know your pain!
such a cute idea! I love it so cute and so simple!
