Glowing Slime!
Try this fun glowing slime! It’s a very simple recipe and the kids will play with it for hours!
We had SO much fun last month at cousin camp! I would have to say that this is one of the most fun things that we did. The kids played with the glowing slime for hours and hours and hours. This isn’t any ordinary slime though, it’s glowing slime! That’s right folks, this stuff glows in the dark! It’s SO much fun!
Of course, you can make it without the glowing pigment, but that’s the best part, am I right? It’s just a simple mixture of glue, water, liquid starch, and glow-in-the-dark pigment.
Use a cheap bowl to mix this in, because you’ll probably want to throw it away afterward. Mix water and glue, then add liquid starch and glowing pigment. We used popsicle sticks to mix it all together. When it starts to come together, use your hands to knead it until it’s easy to play with.
Be patient, it does take a little time to get it all mixed together!
Once you’re done, your kids will have hours of fun! You’ll need to ‘charge’ the slime by keeping it the light for 15 minutes, and then the glow should last for 24 hours. If your slime gets a little sticky again you can add in some more liquid starch and it will make it come back together!
- 1/4 cup of school glue, you can use clear, white or glitter glue!
- 1 Tablespoon of water
- 3 teaspoons of Glow in the Dark Pigment
- 1/4 cup of liquid starch
- disposable bowl
- popsicle stick
- plastic sandwich bag
- Mix glue and water together in the disposable bowl and add in glow in the dark pigment.
- Then pour in liquid starch and use the popsicle stick to mix it, until it starts to form a big glob.
- Then use your hands to knead it together until it's not sticky any more.
- Store it in a plastic bag.
- You may need to let the slime 'charge' under a light to help it glow better. The charge should last for 24 hours with 15 minutes of charging.
- Any type of school glue will work for this recipe. We used white school glue. You could add food coloring to the mix too, but I'm not sure how it would react with the color pigment in the glow in the dark powder. If you try it, let me know!
