Homemade Slider Buns
When we decided that we were going to make sliders for Ben’s birthday, I started to look around for what kind of bun we would want to use. Some of the suggestions were; Hawaiian Sweet Rolls, hotdog buns cut into thirds or Rhodes bake and serve rolls. All these ideas would be great and probably taste yummy but nothing beats homemade!
My husband loves to make bread and this is what we came up with. They are so delicious! You will want to eat them without the meat!
Homemade Slider Buns
Ingredients:
1/2 cup warm water
2 1/3 teaspoons quick rise active dry yeast
1 teaspoon honey
1/4 cup butter, melted
1/2 cup milk
2 eggs1 teaspoon salt
3 1/3 cups flour
Sesame seeds
Homemade Slider Buns
Directions:
- Preheat oven at 350 degrees
- Combine warm water, yeast and honey. Set aside for a few minutes. The yeast will look foamy and fluffy when its ready to use.
- Pour milk, melted butter and 1 egg into bowl and mix well.
- Add yeast mixture into the milk mixture. Add salt and 2 cups flour and knead until flour has been incorporated.
- With mixer on low, add remaining flour. The finished dough should be smooth but still a little sticky.
- Grease dough and bowl. We use Pam to grease.
- Cover and let rise for about a hour or until it has doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and form into small dough balls, about the size of a golf ball.
- Place on greased baking sheet and let dough rise another 30-60 minutes.
- In a bowl, beat remaining egg with 2 tablespoons water. Brush the top of the buns and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.
I've always been afraid to bake bread from scratch, with this recipe and level of detail I'm going to try. Thanks!
It's easy to make and it's so delicious! Let me know how it turns out!
Love making fresh breads. I wonder if this would work for big buns? Thanks for sharing this on Merry Monday. Pinned.
I think it would. You would probably just have to play with it for a while. Super yummy!
