How to do a Back Splash
How to do a Back Splash
I’m one lucky lady!!! My Christmas present from my boys was for them to install a back splash in my kitchen!!! They started it right after Christmas and had to done in a few days!!! It’s easier than you think, if you have the right tools.
This is what I found under my Christmas tree!! You need the spacers to help with the spacing of your tile.
My guys first try to use the handheld tile cutter. Either, they didn’t have enough patience or they were very hard to work with.
We found this little beauty at Home Depot for 124.00. It is well worth the money and now my hubby wants to take on other tile projects. It’s easy to use and they guys had so much fun using it.
The handheld cutters, make it hard not to break the tile. Maybe on smaller tile they would work great!!
Clean the area that you will be tiling, then gently rough up the surface. Using your tile decide on the pattern you want for your backsplash. Make a simple blueprint and then start cutting your tile.
Evenly spread the ceramic tile adhesive to the tile.
Place tile against the wall and as you do add tile pieces, place spacers in between the tile. Once you have all the tile in place, let dry for a couple of days. Last step, take grout and fill joints using a grout float. Then wipe off the excess grout with a sponge and let it dry. To fully clean and polish tile use some cheese cloth.
Looks great, I hope to update my kitchen in the future.
Thank You!
