Open Letter To My Daughter
Open Letter To My Daughter! I truly can’t believe it! My daughter will be graduating from high school this Thursday. I keep asking myself if I have taught her everything she needs to know before she goes off to college.
I want her to know that I will always be there for her and she will always be my little girl. Since I’m in a sentimental mood, I decided to write an open letter to my daughter.
Open Letter To My Daughter
Dear Andie,
You did it! The first big step into the next chapter in your life! You are no longer my little girl but a beautiful young woman. This is a big week for you and so I would like to start the week off with a few words of wisdom.
You will celebrate! Enjoy every minute and remember that you can have fun and still be responsible.
You will make mistakes! Remember to learn from them so you don’t repeat them in the future. In other words, don’t be stubborn.
There will be a success. The most successful people don’t need to tell anyone. Their grace will say it all.
You will lose. Do it with pose and look for the positive things that you gained from the experience.
You will hurt. Sometimes the hardest things teach you more about yourself and you learn how strong you can be.
There will be lots of laughter. Let the joy take over your mind, body and spirit, and remember to spread it with others.
You will cry. Sometimes that’s what you need to do. We all need a moment but then pick yourself up and move forward.
You will be tired. There will be days that will feel like you can’t go on but rely on your family and friends because we all love you!
You will feel lonely. There will be days that you will feel all alone but remember, no matter how far apart we are, we are here for you.
You will love it. Love openly with all your heart! If it breaks, it will heal but life is so much better with love.
You are strong. You have been through so much and look what you have been able to accomplish. Strength can come from so many different avenues.
You are a Lewis. You are part of a family that loves you dearly. No matter what life throws at you, you are never alone!
Everything is always okay in the end. If it doesn’t seem to be okay, it’s not the end of the story!
Don’t forget, there is only one Andie Lewis! Be yourself! No one is exactly like you! Don’t let others define you and take away your confidence. Stand up for what’s right, even if it’s hard. You are a gift. Our family would not be complete without you!
Love, Mom
This is beautiful! And so is your daughter.
Thank you!
You have a stunning daughter and a beautiful way with words. Your letter to your daughter is so loving & honest. ❤️ Writing is not my strong suit. My daughter graduates High School on Tuesday & I want wise advice to write in a book on being an adult. May I share your words with her?
Thank you! Tina
