Slow Cooker Bolognese Sauce
Slow Cooker Bolognese Sauce! My husband’s favorite food is spaghetti and lasagna. I love to make him different foods but it’s nice to put a twist on his favorites. This is a nice twist, I love all the veggies and stuff blended in. It has a little different flavor. We really liked this! See what you think!
Slow Cooker Bolognese Sauce
Ingredients
6 oz prosciutto chopped
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 large white onion, minced
2 celery stalks, minced
2 carrot sticks, minced
1.25 pounds ground beef
56 oz crushed tomatoes
3 bay leaves
salt and pepper to taste
1/4 cup fresh parsley
1/2 cup half and half cream
Directions
1. In a deep sauté pan, saute prosciutto on low heat for about 4-5 minutes. Add olive oil, onions, celery, and carrots, and cook on medium-low heat for about 5 to 7 minutes.
2. Increase heat to medium-high and add ground beef and sauté until browned. Drain the fat.
3. Put all the stuff from the pan into the crockpot. Add tomatoes, bay leaves, salt, and pepper to taste; cover and set the slow cooker to low for 6 to 8 hours.
4. After 6 hours, adjust salt and pepper to taste, add half & half, and parsley. Stir and serve over pasta.
