Soft and Chewy Snickerdoodle Cookies
My hubby Mikey, LOVES LOVES LOVES Snickerdoodles. I can always convince him to whip up a treat for me if it involves these delicious cookies!
The recipe is super fast and easy and makes about 5 dozen small cookies! They’re the perfect treat to make and take to neighbors for Christmas gifts this year!

1 cup of sugar
1 Tablespoon cinnamon
1 cup of butter (softened)
2 1/2 cups of sugar
4 eggs
1 teaspoon of vanilla
2 1/2 Tablespoons of water
6 cups of flour
2 teaspoons of cream of tartar
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1/2 teaspoon of salt
Soft and Chewy Snickerdoodle Cookies
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix 1/2 cup of sugar and 1 tablespoon of cinnamon in a small bowl. Set aside for later. In a large mixing bowl combine butter and sugar. Mix until completely combined and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, while the mixer is still running. Then add vanilla and water. Next, in a separate bowl, sift together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt. Slowly add flour to butter and egg mixture, in quick bursts until fully incorporated.
Drop rounded tablespoons of cookie dough in the cinnamon/sugar mixture and roll until completely covered. Place on a cookie sheet, lined with wax paper, and bake for 10 minutes. They should just barely be golden brown on the bottom! Don’t overcook it!
These are just so soft and chewy and only lasted for about 5 minutes in my house. We took 4 dozen out to our neighbors as a Thanksgiving gift and left the rest at our house. My husband kept sneaking them from the kitchen, even though we’re supposed to be on a low-carb diet…so much for that!
Sounds really good. I love snickerdoodles. Pinning!
Blessings and have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
