Steak Gorgonzola with Alfredo Sauce
Steak Gorgonzola with Alfredo Sauce! Make this popular Olive Garden recipe for Steak Gorgonzola-Alfredo at home. Grilled steak over fettuccine alfredo tossed with fresh spinach and Gorgonzola cheese; then topped with sun-dried tomatoes & balsamic drizzle.
It was Ben’s birthday a few weeks ago and keeping with tradition we let him pick his birthday meal. We have made this for him a couple of times and it’s no surprise to me that he loves this!
Ben has always been a meat-eater. When other people would be eating hamburgers on buns, he would rather just eat the meat.
This is seriously a scrumptious recipe! Lots of steps to prepare this dish but it is well worth it.
Steak Gorgonzola with Alfredo Sauce
Ingredients:
Steak Marinade:
2 to 3 pounds Steak
1 bottle Italian dressing
1 Tablespoon rosemary
1/2 fresh lemon, juiced
skewers
Spinach Gorgonzola Sauce:
1 1/2 cups milk
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
1 cup Romano Cheese, grated
6 egg yolks
salt and pepper to taste
4 cups spinach
1/2 cup green onion, diced
3 Tablespoons Gorgonzola cheese, crumbled
Balsamic Glaze:
1 cup balsamic vinegar
1/2 cup water
2 Tablespoons brown sugar
2 Tablespoons honey
3 Tablespoons olive oil
2 garlic cloves, minced
Directions:
- Mix the dressing, rosemary, and lemon juice together. Cut beef into 1-inch cubes.
- Pour sauce into a Ziploc bag and add steak. Close bag tightly, toss and let marinate for at least 1 hour to overnight. Soak skewers in water so they won’t burn on the grill.
- When it’s time to prepare the meal, place the pan on low heat. Combine milk, heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, Romano cheese, salt, and pepper to taste.
- Use a whisk to combine ingredients and slowly add the egg yolks to the mixture. You will need to stir constantly, so your sauce won’t burn. The longer you cook the sauce the thicker it will become. Add the green onion, spinach, and gorgonzola cheese to the Alfredo.
- Heat grill and place steak cubes onto the skewers. Cook the meat to what you prefer.
- Mix together in a separate saucepan, balsamic vinegar, water, brown sugar, honey, olive oil, and garlic cloves. Bring to a boil and then turn down the heat. Let simmer until the mixture thickens slightly and becomes syrupy, stirring often. It will take about 15 minutes.
